Bridge at 0+863km

At the Zemun Polje location, the installation of a steel railway bridge measuring 31.30 meters in length and weighing 156 tons was successfully completed, on the section of the double-track railway connecting Zemun Polje, Nikola Tesla Airport, the National Stadium, and Obrenovac.

This infrastructure project holds strategic importance – it enables a direct connection between Belgrade and the high-speed railway Belgrade – Novi Sad – Subotica – State Border, further enhancing the mobility and connectivity of the capital with key points across the country.

The bridge was constructed as a steel structure of a simply supported beam system, with a span of 31.30 meters and a width of 8 meters, featuring two welded box girders 2.2 meters high and an orthotropic deck. The bridge alignment lies in a horizontal curve with a radius of 500 meters and on an incline, which added to the technical complexity of the project.

The structure was made of S355 J2 + Z15 grade steel, in segments that were transported to the construction site, where pre-assembly, welding into a single unit, and anti-corrosion protection were carried out. Final assembly was performed using a 1200-ton mobile crane, during nighttime conditions, due to the proximity of the existing high-speed railway and the need for a safe power shutdown in the contact network.
